DICK STRAKER’S VIDEO DESIGN BEAMS FOR LOVES SACRIFICE IN JOHN FORD
REVIVAL AT THE RSC

On Monday, the RSC’s revival of
Love’s
Sacrifice
by John Ford opened at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon.
With echoes of Shakespeare’s Othello, John
Ford’s rarely performed play is a thrilling revenge tragedy powered by the
destructive force of unrequited love. Along with director, Matthew Dunster, our
tremendous video designer Dick Straker
makes his season debut at the RSC. Having received brilliant reviews, here’s
what a few of the critics had to say about the production –

“striking visual imagery – the foetal embryos
of the girlfriends projected onto their crimson taffeta corset” – WHATSONSTAGE,
****

A gripping, atmospheric and visually rich production of a play unseen on
stage in 400 years” – THE STAGE. ****

Love’s Sacrifice runs at the Swan Theatre until the 24th
June 2015.
