SCOTT MARSHALL CLIENTS AT THE BIFA AWARDS

On Monday 3rd November, we were pleased to see that numerous films featuring Scott Marshall clients have been nominated for British Independent Film Awards. We wait with anticipation for the winners to be announced on the Sunday 7th December.

CALVARY // Nominated for: Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Screenplay

Released earlier this year, Calvary stars Brendan Gleeson and Chris O’Dowd, alongside our very own Owen Sharpe. This dark comedy drama examines the actions of a good-natured priest, as well as his relationship with his daughter, after he is threatened during a confession.

MR TURNER // Nominated for: Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Technical Achievement (Cinematography)

Starring Timothy Spall in the titular role, Mr Turner explores the fascinating life and loves of prolific British painter J M W Turner. Appearing alongside Spall are three excellent Scott Marshall clients: James Fleet (as fellow artist John Constable), David Ryall and Terrence Hardiman.

THE IMITATION GAME // Nominated for: Best British Independent Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay

Centring on the true story of Alan Turing, the British computing pioneer who cracked the German Enigma codes during WWII, our own Tom Goodman-Hill and Andrew Havill star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as Turing and Keira Knightley as Turing’s close friend and fellow code-breaker Joan Clarke.

PRIDE // Nominated for: Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Most Promising Newcomer

Set during the 1984 Miner’s Strike, Pride manages to winningly capture the inspirational story of how a London based group, Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, helped a small Welsh community in their struggle within Margaret Thatcher’s Britain. We are immensely proud that five Scott Marshall clients (Sophie Evans, Neal Barry, Henry Garrett, Will Haddington and Tomos Eames) feature alongside the likes of Bill Nighy and Paddy Considine in this deft crowd-pleaser.
