LUCY
PITMAN-WALLACE (Director)

Lucy is an experienced theatre director of more than fifty productions, with five-star reviews, a TMA Best Director nomination and an Olivier award (RSC Swan Season) to her name.

She enjoys directing plays with dense texts, whether Shakespeare or New Writing and she has experience of commissioning and premiering new writers’ work.

She loves working collaboratively with ensembles, be they four or twenty-four performers, working closely with actors, designers, lighting designers and venue staff to create the work. She believes happy companies are the most productive.

Her ethos is that a director should be led by the play and the writer’s intentions – “The Play’s The Thing…” – meaning each production is unique.

Lucy has recently attained an MA in Applied Theatre from Warwick University.
